Teresa Letizia Bontà

She was born in Licata, Agrigento, in 1981. She approached the world of photography at a very young age as a self-taught woman.  The first subject that stimulated her was definitely her environment and the artistic and landscape beauties of her country. Among her favorite themes there is no shortage of people, the woman, the surrounding reality. Her photograph is simple but attentive to the details. Her photos tell what she is and what she was. In the summer of 2018 she created a photo shoot in Sicily in Palma di Montechiaro, where she dared to go further, breaking through the taboo wall: the kiss between two women in front of the church has caused quite a stir from the population and news outlets. The shots had the positive consent of the well-known designer Stefano Gabbana who, on Instagram, appreciated the shots.  In September 2018s he is re-established at the Lagoon Art Prize with more intimate themes and with sought-after shots. She created three photo shoots with very strong themes and that have caused a stir. Venice Today created an article to give visibility to the shots but above all to the theme. In May 2019 she placed second in the "Michelangelo Vizzini" award on women and Sicily, also receiving the Special Jury Award for the shot that immortalizes two women kissing in the famous square of Palma di Montechiaro. Remaining strong with the theme “Sicily”, the artist has joined the International Mediterranean Festival in Mazzara del Vallo, she has presented ten shots that tell the story of Sicily and the work done in recent years.
