She is a self-taught Roman artist. Sonia is fascinated by classical painting techniques and in particular by Rembrandt, Velasquez and the Italian and the more modern Antonio Mancini. At the moment she is focused on the portrait, she tries to find a dark side in her subjects, building the image with material spots and endless layers of color, to get, perhaps, to grasp the essence of the subject.
