Date of born: 17 December 1978, S. Cataldo (CL). She began the study of applied arts at a very young age, which led her to attend the Regional Institute of Art of St. Cataldo and the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania where she revealed a special talent for the course of Painting Decoration. She later moved to Rome, where she began a personal search on glass and engraving as well as painting.  She joined the movement of The Pentastractism of Massimo Picchiami, an artistic movement of Italian contemporary art artists, where she enhances the beauty and gestures of abstract art in her own way. That of Ivana Urso is a complex journey. A clash between darkness and light, between thin and heavy planes, between thick games, but also a path of transformation of her language that becomes increasingly abstract and universal. Creations that are also places of contemplation and experimentation that recall the evocative possibilities of a space and an expanding memory, no longer closed and sacrificed in the two-dimensionality of the painting.
