Cristina Ognibene
Was born in Caltanissetta in 1983, she graduated from the Art Institute of Art "F. Juvara" of San Cataldo in 2002 and continued his studies in Catania where he obtained the qualification of art restorer of paintings and wooden works. Expert in Byzantine iconography, ceramics, portraiture and plastic modeling, she found her expressive way by merging ancient and modern techniques together, in this way sometimes she creates relief effects on the canvas, sometimes the color lights up and melts blending into the background. She is inspired by everything that arouses interest and emotion and is able to generate new images in her. The fil rouge of his production is the emotion and feeling that remains unchanged in man despite the passage of time. The passion for the portrait is the pivot of his artistic production; here the importance of visual contact of the work with the viewer. In his paintings it is often the work itself that looks and scrutinizes the viewer, not the other way round, and it is precisely in that reflection that the viewer discovers something of himself, a palpable emotion or hidden or dormant in memories. Ognibene conceives art as generating a feeling out of time. Several of Cristina's works are on permanent display in the Red Theater of San Secondo,in the Sacred Heart Church and in the John Paul II Auditorium of Caltanissetta,in Villa Barile, in the Forestry Corps and in the Chapel of the Caltanissetta Prison and at the private Italian and French collections.
