Arjan Shehaj
Was born in 1989 in Patos, in southwestern Albania. He lives and works in Milan. In 2012 he graduated in painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts (with honors) and in 2015 he graduated in that same Academy with honors too. Shehaj's art focuses on the geometric element of pictorial language; in this way he tries to reach the pure concept, reducing the artistic language to a sign. His work seems limited to a few lines and colors and becomes increasingly essential. This research concerns essential perception. The few colors he uses allow him to experiment on different materials and various techniques. Shehaj does not try to remember the fact, but the structure of reality. What if the universe was holographic? Its structure would be the same as that of our perception. The lines join, divide, expand and then integrate, play and shape the geometric shapes that live between the unreal dimension of the surface and the extension of real life, therefore the goal of pure and absolute over time and in the sensory space. His work is anthropometric. Man is all we can measure.
