Hall Andrea Camilleri

Born in Porto Empedocle (Agrigento) on September 6, 1925, Andrea Camilleri for most of his existence, lived in Rome, where he died on July 17, 2019 and where he rests, at the Non-Catholic Cemetery.  Director, theatrical, television and radio author, author of essays on the show.  In the years from 1945 to 1952 he published short stories and poems, also winning the St Vincent Prize.  He taught directing institutions at the Academy of Dramatic Art.  Since 1949 Camilleri worked at Rai as a production delegate, director and screenwriter;  in this capacity he linked his name to some of the best known detective productions of Italian TV.  Over the years he joined this activity as a writer;  he is the author of important "fictional" essays of Sicilian setting born from his studies on the history of the island.
